Norma Cole is a poet, painter, and translator. Her most recent poetry publications are Spinoza in Her Youth (Omnidawn Press, 2002) and a little a & a (Seeing Eye Books, 2002). Scout, a text/image work is forthcoming from Krupskaya Editions in CD-ROM format. Among her poetry books are Mars (Listening Chamber, 1994), Moira (O Books, 1996), and Contrafact (Potes & Poets, 1996). Translation work includes Danielle Collobert's It Then (O Books, 1989) and Journals (Litmus Press), Anne Portugal's Nude (Kelsey St. Press, 2001), and Crosscut Universe: Writing on Writing from France (Burning Deck, 2000).

Lydia Davis is the author of four books of fiction, the latest of which, Samuel Johnson is Indignant, was selected as an ALA Notable Book of 2001. She is also the translator of numerous works from the French, including most recently Proust's Swann's Way (Viking, 2003).

Serge Gavronsky has translated Ponge, Pleynet, Denis Roche, Frémon, Frénaud, Guillevic, Mansour, Portugal, Lapeyrère, Giraudon. In collaboration with François Dominique, he has translated Louis Zukofsky's "A" 1-12. Two books of his poetry have recently been published in France: Temps mort (Virgile, 2002) and Une toute autre histoire (Al Dante, 2002) and in English, 66 for Starters (Jensen/Daniels, 2001).

Cole Swensen is the author of seven books of poetry, including Such Rich Hour (U. of Iowa, 2001). She has won the Iowa Poetry Prize, the SF State Poetry Center Book Award, Sun & Moon's New America Writing Award, and a National Poetry Series Award. Her translations include Jean Frémon's Island of the Dead, published by Green Integer in 2003.
